Holy Crap

It's 7am and I'm writing a blog post, heck it's before 10am and I'm awake!!  For a second I thought about going running...bahahahahahahaah, yeah right (even though I complain to Jared all the time about how out of shape I am).  Instead I planned to make something amazing with this.

It's a left over scrap of fabric from our Boise reception.  My MIL (thanks Paula) let me keep it and I'm pretty excited. It will become a sweet pink and gold hot mess.

Marriage is what brings us together today...

We've been married for 8 month now.  Not that long in the grand scheme but pretty crazy to us.  I thought I should finally share these photos from The event! Bridals, Temple, reception and in between.

Sadly, we say farewell to our friend (insert name here).  Yeah we didn't even give the car a name.  I tried but nothing would stick.  I'm probably psychic and knew we would sell it.

And what does one do when they come into a large sum of cash? Put it in the bank? Pshh......you toss it in the air so that it is raining money because you are never going to see that cash again, OHSU is going to see that cash (and I'm sure they are making it rain with students tuition).

PORTLAND

We are moving, pretty crazy, to Portland.  Jared got into OHSU for dental school.  Yay!! for our future.

So far this is what people have told me about Portland

  • It's very liberal
  • There is a lot of marijuana
  • There are a ton of farmers markets
  • People pick up after their dogs (gross)
  • It is close to where Goonies was filmed
  • They recycle

Basically it will be amazing.  And after weeks of searching and calling we found an apartment.  It is close to school and close to our budget.  Other sweet amenities include a pool (which I'm sure we will use on all those sunny days) and a communal herb garden.  Also we get a little plot of land to garden on which I'm really excited about.  And the people that lived in the apt before were there for 10 years, meaning they put in all new carpet, counters and fixtures for when we move in.  Kinda nice to know your carpet will not give you a weird disease.

So far the excitement of moving is in the forefront of all other thoughts....like the fact that I need to find a job and they don't have my teaching degree in their public schools or that Jared will be in school and MIA for the next four years.  Oh.....and that whole student loan things.

Eh....it will all work out.  And we are pretty excited to jump in and start.
