Multnomah Village

You can't really tell, but this street is lined with little tiny fun shops.  A couple weeks ago Jared told me he would be studying all day and that he would take a break and I could pick anything I wanted to do.  I chose window shopping.  Will I chose shopping again if this arrangement comes up again? Nope....He said "anything" and he was a good sport but let's be honest, he really didn't care for looking at bead shops and nick knack stores.  However, we did enjoy the novelty toy shop and the overly prices candy store (yeah, that kinda explains our personality, we might still be children at heart).

It was simple and fun.  I love window shopping and just walking around old school parts of towns and I love Jared for sucking it up (especially after a day of studying).

Life is really good right now.  Jared has the swing of things...well, almost.  I woke up this morning to him scaring the bageezies out of me because he missed the bus and I thought I was alone. But other than a bus route and a few boring shopping trips he's content.  And I FINALLY got a job at Nordstrom.  I'm pretty excited and I start tomorrow. Wish me luck, and Jared luck for his final on Friday!!

BONFIRE

Oh my heck!! So....Jared decides to read the last post and informed me that it's a bonfire and not a bomb fire....yeah. MIND BLOWN.  And might I add I'm a little disappointed.  I'm pretty sure my version is better.  And yeah,  Jared laughed, a lot! We both did and then I looked it up just to double check (it's really hard to accept something you believed your whole life is wrong) and this is what I found on Wikipedia.  Yup, a whole page for bonfires and there's actually a lot more to them than I thought.

In many regions of continental Europe, bonfires are made traditionally on January 16,the solemnity of John the Baptist, as well as on Saturday night before Easter. Bonfires are also a feature of Walpurgis Night in central and northern Europe, and the celebrations on the eve of St. John's Day in Spain. In Finland bonfires are tradition on Midsummer Eve and easter, also in midst of may celebrations. bla bla bla

And apparently the name comes from "bone fires".  But after I looked up bonfires I looked up "bomb fires" and this is the definition I found on urban dictionary.

"What stupid people say that don't know it's spelled BONFIRE"

And my favorite quote of this revelation is Jared "how ironic the day after you get your college diploma....." Yup, I finally received my diploma in the mail and then proved that I truly deserved it today. Ha but whatever, I'm smart and awesome and a college grad.  Perhaps we shall celebrate the feat with a "BOMB FIRE"

The beach and a date (please say in the same inflection as the guy from enchanted)

So....a couple weekends ago (yeah, I'm slow) Mr. Imgoingtobeadentist went on a bonding trip to the beach with all his dental classmates. They stayed in a $$$+ resort that was on the beach with a sweet bathroom (his words), had a bomb fire on the beach (not really a bomb fire just a camp fire.  It sad what people call a bomb fire). He ate amazing food and explored Cannon beach.  Oh and did I mention he built a super rad sand castle and won a competition.  Yeah...that's right, #1!!

And what did I do while he was gone? It was suggested I go see a movie (I looooove seeing movies by myself, yet I have not done it for awhile).  However, we are poor so I opted for something else.  This is how it went down:

First...I had a date with H&M at the awesome mall
(only looks were had...it was a PG date since I can't buy anything, but still worth it)
Next:

See's candy sample = free
Jr. Roast beef from Arby's = 1$
Hard taco from Taco Bell = 1$
French Fries from McDonald's = 1$
(yeah, I drove to all three and Portland does not have sale tax so a dollar was really a dollar!!)
Next:

From Red Box
We bought a zoo = 1$
The help = free!
The hunger games = free!

BOOM that's right.  I had a date with myself and only spent 4$ (and a little gas) instead of whatever a movie would have cost and watched three great movies (I recommend them all) and did it all in my pajamas (except the mall of course, I actually took time and got all done up for that.  Must always look your best for the clothes).

Now, should I really brag when I could have spent no money since we are dirt poor? Hmm....yeah I just re-read the top about the resort and bla bla bla...I don't feel so bad anymore...we just might be eating more potatoes than normal.
