The Fourth

I've decided the Fourth of July is my favorite holiday.  Christmas is pretty amazing but the fourth includes fireworks, no need to buy/receive gifts (not that I don't love exchanging gifts, it can just be stressful at times), summer weather and everyone pretty much celebrates the same way so there is no drama in that department.

This year the Berg's invited us to Kevin's hometown and it was pretty great.  For starters his parent's house has air conditioning, a play room and a kind size bed.  I can't begin to explain how luxurious those three things seemed.  I know, first world problems but I'm not ashamed to say our 10 year old lumpy queen mattress is getting on my pregnant nerves.  There was also great food, fireworks and jet boats involved so all in all a great weekend.

Also, Amelia is growing up...fast.  Thankfully she isn't scared of fireworks and let me dress her in sweet patriotic themed clothes.  What more could I ask for.

First we did the Jet boats down the river the runs through Grants Pass.  It was awesome.  The first half Amelia was nervous and clung to me and Jared but then she had a pretty good time.  I love her hair.  I'm also beginning to accept I have a fear of open water.  Who knew.

We hopped in the hot tub that was about bath tub temp and let the kids splash around,  or just stay hydrated

The new camera Jared had to buy for school is underwater.  My dreams have come true!

We took a quick stroll around downtown, it was crazy hot.  They have bear statues all around, and I needed a pic with the Harry Potter bear.

We put the kids to bed and then woke them back up when it was dark enough to light some fireworks.  So fun to watch Amelia experience this for the first time.
